Thanksgiving wrap up....

Ok, I have been a bad blogger lately. Things have been pretty hectic lately!!! So, for thanksgiving my family and I headed up to Ohio with my little cousin Noah. The trip started out by having a horrible car ride up there. Traffic was ridiculous! I think we were in stand-still for most of the trip. We finally arrived at 2:30am Thanksgiving morning. My dad and I at my grandma Hopper's and my mom and Noah at Grandma Newtons. Had Thanksgiving at Grandma Hoppers in the morning and then headed to Grandma Newtons. (sidenote- my mom's mom is grandma newton. G-Newton has/had 12 kids!!! I know right!! There are 31 grandchildren, a lot are married and there are a good bit of great-grandkids!! Let's just say CRAZY, but also a lot of fun!!!) I love having a big family!! Thanksgiving night I stayed with my aunt Cessie, and her kids Nolan and Natalie. These kids have to be the best in the world!! Nolan is 13, and Natalie is 9(going on 25)!!! Nats and i got up at 4:30 on Black Friday and hit the stores!! Saturday we all headed to Columbus for a good ol'Newton wedding. My cousin Amanda married her long time love Joe!! It was a great ceremony and a wonderful reception. I also got to see their cute little baby boy, Desmond.
Now, Newton weddings are a lot of fun. Since we have such a huge family, you definitely know a ton of the guests!! My 80 something grandma even got out and danced!!!
Sunday we headed home!! And like the ride up there we got stuck in traffic!! It should have only taken us about 9 hours to get home, but really it was 13!!
I was a little sad to come home!! It is so nice to be around the family and I miss them a lot!! I just wish we could move them all, well most down here to SC!!! It was nice though to come back to the nice weather and my husband and dog!!

Happy Thanksgiving

I just want to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!!! I am leaving today at 12pm to drive up to Ohio!! Wish me luck, I am traveling 12 hours with my mom, dad and a 3 year old!! I am looking forward to seeing my family in Ohio and spending time!! Russ will be staying behind this year. My cousin is getting married on Saturday in Columbus, this just so happens to be the same day that the Clemson vs. Carolina game is playing. So, this is our first Thanksgiving being married and we will be apart!!! Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving and Go TIGERS!!!!

Weekend wrap up....

This past weekend I went to the Clemson game on Saturday. I had been sick all last week and then decided at 4 in the morning to go to the game!! I asked Russ if he wanted to go and he said "no!" If you know Russ at all you would have thought that he was sick or something, but he really didn't want to go!! Weird I know!!! SO, we had a girls day!! My friend, Natalie is in town for a couple of weeks. She, Barry and Ava moved up to PA a couple of months ago. I was excited to see her and her little girl Ava. I drove to RH to meet Tara and Kelly and then we went to Spartanburg to pick up Natalie. When we got to Natalie's sisters house little Ava was waiting for us!! She is so precious!! (As soon as Kelly emails me pics i will post!!!) She has to be one of the cutest little babies!!!! We were then off to the game! We had such a good time!! It was so great to hang out with everyone!!!! We decided that we weren't done hanging out, so we went into Tiger Town!

As I was walking downtown Tiger Town, I tripped!!! I know!!! I fell off of the curb, went flying and landed on my knee and side!!! I was emabarressed and laughing histerically. I scrapped up my palms, fingers, my knee is black and blue and half of the tops of my toes are skinned up!!! We all instantly started laughing!! My little crystal light packets flew out of my purse and my flip-flop went the other way!! I was literaly a mess!!! I had to spend Sunday recoperating!! That was my weekend!! I guess that is what i get for laughing at others when they fall!



In work news... The wife and boyfriend are on the outs!!! They are not currently speaking to each other! I think the Christmas party will be interesting!!

Crazy, but that's how it goes......

I went and got my haircut yesterday!! Well, just a trim. I have been growing it for two years. And it is almost long enough to donate to Locks for Love. (you have to have 10inches) SO, I decided to grow it out a little bit longer, so when i donate my 10 inches I won't have super short hair. Hopefully, this won't take forever because it is starting to get on my nerves.

But, when i was at the hair salon I discovered a new craft!! They were selling these cute picture frames with Bows and Jewels that were super cute!! They were also charging outragous prices for these, so me and another co worker (not the one that i talk about in the following paragraphs), have decided that next weekend we will get together and make these!! They are so neat!! I really can't describe it and i so tried to take a picture with my camera phone, but that would have been way to obvious!!! So, you will have to wait to see the final product!!!

Blah Monday and Random Stuff

I hate Mondays and really am not liking today!! I just found out that we have a meeting at 9:30. Fun!! Also, i am sick!! I think I have another sinus infection. I woke up yesterday morning at 3am with my ear in pain!! I am going to stick it out one more day!! Hopefully, I won't have to go to the dr!
This weekend we went to a surpise birthday party for our friend Sok!! He turned the big 30!!!
He was really surprised!! We had a great time and got to hang out with a lot of our friends!!!!
In other news- we also had two weddings this weekend!!! Congrats to the new Mr & Mrs Werner and Mr. & Mrs. Newton!! Although we couldn't make these in person we are so happy for you guys!! (one was in St.Thomas and the other in Ohio!! Since we got married this year we have almost no vacation days left!!!)

Also, my little goddaughter Leah celebrated her 2nd birthday!! Happy Birthday Leah!!!

I am starting back at the gym today!! My bootcamp class was finished about a month ago and I am finally getting motivated to go back to the gym!! I did a bootcamp class for 10 weeks. Well, it was supposes to be 10, but i only completed 9 weeks!! Four days a week i was either getting up at 5:15am or going to work out after work!! This was pure torture!! The first day I had to run a mile!!!! I thought i was going to die!! There were many mornings that before I walked into the house i had to shake and get off all of the grass!! Yes, it truly was running and getting dirty!! And at the end i gained 5 lbs! I did feel better, but seriously 5lbs!!! Oh well, at least i know i can run a mile!! So, today i start back at the gym!!! I have pump it class and then i may do water aerobics with my mom!!! It all depends on how i feel!!! I will keep ya posted!! Happy Monday!!

To trick-or-treat, or not trick-or-treat that was the question...

I love holidays!! At the beginning of October I got all of the Halloween decorations out!! The house had witches, ghosts and pumpkins everywhere! Since, this was our first Halloween at our new house Russ and I were really excited. We couldn't wait to pass out candy to trick-or-treaters. I even went to the mall and had this cute Halloween bucket engraved that said "The Comptons!" Well, a few weeks ago Russ got a call from his boss letting him know that he would need to be in ATL for the Oct 31st weekend to help with inventory. we then decided that I would go to ATL with him for the weekend. Go figure, as soon as I was printing out my directions to IKEA Russ calls and they don't need him!!! So, it was 3:30 on Halloween and no plans, no candy, nothing!!! We get home and decided to sit out on our back porch and pretend we aren't home. Well, that lasted all about 15 mins. We rush to the store and buy candy, then run out and buy more!!! Here are a couple of pics of Russ and I passing out candy!!

We had picked up some pumpkins on our way home from a wedding in GA a couple of weeks ago. I finally got around to carving them the Tuesday before Halloween. Well, one trick-or-treater asked me if I was an artist. I said "No, but why". The little girl said that my pumpkin was awesome and that I should be a pumpkin carving artist!! I was pretty proud of myself!! Hope everyone had a Happy and Safe Halloween!!!

Random stuff......

I really don't have anything to blog about! I guess our life is pretty boring this week. I did take this cute photo of Macks!!! It is his halloween costume!! He is going as a pumpkin, and as you can see he is very excited!! I took several others in the photo shoot, but this came out the best!

BTW, my aunt Cessie is running for the Recorder position in Defiance, Oh. So, if you know anyone that lives there tell them to vote on Tuesday!! She has been working very hard for this and would do a terrific job!

weekend in review...

This past weekend we had the engagement party!! It was so much fun. I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen in years!!! I have some pictures that I have promised I would email. I will have to post them tomorrow! Other than that, have a good day!!! Oh, and for the drinkers and karokers that stayed all night...... I respect that!! I think that was the funniest line all night!!!

TGIF......

I am so excited it is Friday! This has been the longest week ever. Work has been really crazy lately since it is flu season! So I am really looking forward to the weekend! Also, this weekend I am helping to host an engagement party for our friends Tara and Eric. Tara and I have been friends since college. She and Eric are getting married in March!! I am so honored and excited to be a part of their special day!! The wedding party is throwing the party on Saturday night!! So, tonight my friend Stefanie is coming in town early to hang out!! I can't wait to see her. She moved up to DC back in January, so it will be nice to catch up, and also find out about her wedding (she just got engaged almost a month ago)! Her engagement party is next!! Then tomorrow Russ, Stefanie and I are headed to RH to meet some of the bridesmaids and Tara at the bridal shop to order our dresses, then off to lunch and then set up for the party (I doubt Russ will be doing this stuff)!!! Macks will hopefully be going to his grandparents, they just don't know it yet!!! Hopefully, today will go by fast!!!

A new beginning.......

Well I decided to start a blog!! I am really not sure how this is going to go but we shall see!!! I thought this would be a great way for our family and friends to see what Russ and I are up to!! So here goes nothing and happy reading!!!
